The Beginning of Twin Lakes Puppies

Twin Lakes Puppies was founded by Josh Wagenbach in the Fall of 2019, continuing a family tradition of excellence in Goldendoodle breeding. Josh’s parents, Michael and Erica, began Sunshine Acres in 2001, one of the pioneers in Goldendoodle breeding, where they continue to raise these beloved dogs today.

Sunshine Acres was among the first to introduce Goldendoodles to families, and in 2008, they began raising Irish Goldendoodles, known for their striking red coats. Josh now carries on this legacy through Twin Lakes Puppies, specializing in Irish Goldendoodle Backcrosses (F1Bs).

Though the name has changed, the dedication to breeding high-quality puppies remains the same. Twin Lakes Puppies shares the same goals that Josh grew up with: providing families with smart, affectionate, easily trained, and hypoallergenic Goldendoodles. Our Home

Named after The Twin Lakes near where Twin Lakes Puppies now is located, they are nestled into a cozy woods with plenty of room for everyone. Twin Lakes Puppies is dedicated to providing high quality puppies to everyone who wants one. At Twin Lakes Puppies, every family who adopts a Irish Goldendoodle becomes a part of our Doodle Family.

About Josh

Josh graduated Purdue University where he studied Animal Sciences and dual majoring in Agriculture Economics. He is now using the skills he learned to help him specialize in F1B Irish Goldendoodles. Twin Lakes Puppies has puppies coast-to-coast across the United States. From Oregon and California to Maine and Florida, and from Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin and Indiana to Texas. Puppies from their litters will occasionally end up on opposite coasts with their forever families!

Josh works full-time as a real estate broker. He buys, sells, and manages farms in Indiana and Illinois. He also is a 5th generation farmer in White County, Indiana where he farms with his grandpa, dad, and five brothers!

History of our parent lines

Our Irish Goldendoodle puppies’ parents are all here at Twin Lakes Puppies. Every puppy we sell was born here and has been lovingly raised by our family. Because of this, we know not only their individual health history and temperament, but the history of their parents. There are three parent breeds in our doodle cross. A purebred Poodle, a purebred Irish Setter, and a purebred Golden Retriever are required. In many cases, our Irish Goldendoodle puppies’ grandparents and great-grandparents out to their great-great-great grandparents were raised by us as well. We are glad to be a source of knowledge for you, not only before your Goldendoodle puppy comes home, but for the many years after, as well.
