Larry (Lives in Wisconsin)

Larry, An F1B Irish Goldendoodle Puppies
We bought your Liam puppy just over a year ago.  Since we have a son named Liam we changed the puppy’s name to Larry. His parent’s were Karrie and Hank.
I have to tell you Larry is THE MOST FABULOUS dog I have ever had.  He was easily trained, super friendly to people and other pets and is absolutely adorable. Everyone who meets him loves him- he definitely steals the show wherever he goes- with his good looks and fun demeanor. He loves to play fetch and run but is also very much a snuggler!
Thank you so very much for breeding such amazing dogs. We are so grateful we found you and our very loved Larry.
I have attached a picture for you when he was just under a year. He is now currently 48 pounds.

Unraveling the Mystery: What is the difference between an F1 vs F1B Goldendoodles

In the world of furry companions, the Goldendoodle stands out as a delightful crossbreed between a Golden Retriever and a Poodle. These lovable pups are adored for their intelligence, affectionate nature, and, of course, their adorable appearance. However, within the Goldendoodle family, there are distinctions that go beyond just their charming looks. Today, let’s delve into the fascinating differences between F1 and F1B Goldendoodles.

Feel free to look at our Doodle Family Wallpaper to see see what adult F1b’s look like!

What does F1 Goldendoodles mean?
These pups are the result of a first-generation cross between a purebred Poodle and a purebred Golden Retriever. The mix is typically 50% Poodle and 50% Golden Retriever. This generation is often cherished for its diverse mix of traits inherited from both parent breeds.
What does F1b Goldendoodles mean?
On the other paw, F1B Goldendoodles are a backcross, meaning they are 75% Poodle and 25% Golden Retriever. How so? An F1 Goldendoodle is bred back to a Poodle, usually resulting in a pup that is more Poodle-like in appearance and traits.
F1 vs. F1b Goldendoodle's coats and shedding
One of the most noticeable differences between these two types of Goldendoodles is often their coat. F1 Goldendoodles typically have a coat that varies widely, sometimes leaning more towards the Golden Retriever side with loose waves, and other times closer to the Poodle with tighter curls. This variation can also mean a range in shedding, with some F1 Goldendoodles being low-shedding and others moderate.

In contrast, F1B Goldendoodles often have a curlier or wavy coat that tends to be more consistent. This generation is generally preferred by those seeking a hypoallergenic or non-shedding dog, as they are more likely to inherit the Poodle’s coat type.

F1 Goldendoodle vs. F1b Goldendoodle's Size and Weight differences
When it comes to size, both F1 and F1B Goldendoodles can vary widely depending on the size of the parent Poodle and Golden Retriever. However, because F1B Goldendoodles have more Poodle genetics, they often lean towards the smaller side compared to F1 Goldendoodles.
F1 Goldendoodle vs. F1b Goldendoodle's Temperament and Trainability
Both F1 and F1B Goldendoodles are known for their friendly, loving, and highly intelligent nature. They typically make excellent family pets, therapy dogs, and companions for individuals of all ages.

However, some enthusiasts believe that F1B Goldendoodles may have a slight edge when it comes to trainability. This is because they tend to inherit more of the Poodle’s eagerness to please and intelligence. Of course, individual personalities can vary widely, so early socialization and training are key for both types.

F1 Goldendoodle vs. F1b Goldendoodle's Health considerations
Like all dog breeds, both F1 and F1B Goldendoodles can be prone to certain health issues. However, responsible breeding practices can help mitigate these risks. Some health concerns that are more prevalent in Poodles, such as hip dysplasia and certain eye conditions, may be less common in F1B Goldendoodles due to their increased Poodle genetics.

Making the Choice between an F1 Goldendoodle and F1b Goldendoodle
In the end, whether you choose an F1 or F1B Goldendoodle often comes down to personal preference. If you love the unpredictability and variety of traits from both parent breeds, an F1 Goldendoodle might be the perfect match. On the other hand, if you’re looking for a pup with a more predictable coat type and potentially less shedding, an F1B Goldendoodle could be the ideal choice.

Whichever Goldendoodle steals your heart, remember that both types bring joy, love, and endless tail wags into their families’ lives. So, whether you find yourself captivated by the bouncy curls of an F1B or the charming mix of an F1, rest assured that you’re in for a lifetime of delightful companionship with these lovable furry friends.

What our puppies go home with FAQ's

What's Family Socialized F1b Goldendoodle Puppies?
Human socialization and interaction are crucial for the well-rounded development of our puppies. At our facility, we prioritize creating a loving and interactive environment for our furry friends. Our family, including adults and children, actively participates in puppy playtime and early behavior training sessions. This hands-on approach fosters strong bonds with our puppies and helps them become well-adjusted, affectionate, and sociable companions. We believe in nurturing their emotional and mental growth from the start, ensuring they are ready to bring joy and love to their forever homes. Our commitment to providing a loving and interactive atmosphere is at the core of our puppy-raising philosophy.
What's a "Microchip"?
All of our goldendoodle puppies come with a RFID “Microchip” for identification. We implant a small chip under their skin that will stay there for their whole life. Once it is there, it is completely painless and they don’t have a clue it’s there. The “Microchip” will help you find your puppy if it would get lost. Most lost dogs go to shelters and veterinarian offices.  Where they are immediately scanned. BuddyID.com is the website where you will register your puppy for a one time small fee and will have your contact information.

This has helped more than one of our F1B Goldendoodle puppies from being permanently lost to being reunited with their family in short order!

What does "Fully Vaccinated and Dewormed mean"?
Fully vaccinated and dewormed mean that your puppy has received all the necessary vaccinations to protect against common diseases and has undergone deworming treatment to eliminate intestinal parasites. This proactive approach ensures your furry friend’s health and well-being, reducing the risk of infections and promoting a happy, active life. Regular veterinary check-ups and adherence to recommended vaccination schedules are crucial to maintaining your puppy’s optimal health. Feel free to consult our team for any questions or concerns about your puppy’s vaccination and deworming status, and we’ll be more than happy to assist you!
What does "Vet Checked" mean?
Vet Checked means that our puppies undergo a thorough examination by a licensed veterinarian to ensure they are in good health. Our veterinary professionals assess their overall well-being, look for any signs of illness or congenital issues, and verify that they meet the necessary health standards. This process provides peace of mind to our customers, knowing that their chosen puppy has received professional care and attention before joining their new forever home. We prioritize the health and happiness of our puppies, and the Vet Checked certification is a testament to our commitment to providing the best possible start in life for each furry friend we raise!
If my puppy flies to me, how do I know he is healthy?
When your puppy flies to you, a Certified Health Inspection completed by a licensed veterinarian serves as tangible evidence of the puppy’s well-being. It assures you that your furry friend has received a thorough health evaluation, ensuring they are in excellent condition before travel. Knowing your puppy is healthy and happy from the start boosts your confidence in your decision, and our commitment to transparency and your puppy’s well-being. You can trust that your new companion is in good hands, making the journey to your home a smoother and more reassuring experience for both of you.
